THFF 2010/2011 New Season

New Premier League Season

The new season of the TH Fantasy Football League is quickly approaching and The Sun newspaper have released new Dream Team player lists and rules. This season, the rules have changed whereby News Of The World ratings and points are no longer used.

The aim this year is to get more teams entered than ever before in order to boost the prize fund. If you know of anyone who likes football and the odd punt, or just a bit of fun, please pass on the website details and any e-mails I send out and we'll see if we can get it over the 400 mark for the first time.

The TH Fantasy Football Teampicker is available (Teampicker); This lets you choose and register your team online. It has a built-in facility to prevent any errors, including spending over £50m; so you know your entry will be accepted. Entries by the TH Fantasy Football Teampicker also help to increase the speed at which I can populate the database at the beginning of the season. The quicker I complete the database, the quicker I'll be able to get out the first league table.

So please, if you can, use the TH Fantasy Football Teampicker rather than e-mail or send in paper forms, it really will make a difference. You should find it's easier for you as well as me.

This season, I'm also going to be cracking down hard on people who don't pay. Every year I have people who promise to pay and don't or those who simply ignore my requests. There is no excuse, particularly with the ability to pay by PayPal nowadays. Anyone who doesn't have their money in by Friday 13th August will be left out, unless they've spoken to me beforehand.

Finally, a big thank you to you all for your continuing support.

Good Luck.

World Cup Predictions

Congratulations to Dan & Simon for winning this year's TH Fantasy Football League. £200 will be winging its way to you in the next few days. Other winners and their prizes can be found on the Prizes link above. Luke Brand and James Ford both won their respective battles for £5 in 150th and 250th place respectively by possessing the highest scoring defence.

The World Cup is fast approaching (oh yes!) which means the World Cup Prediction Game is now open. The online page is now ready and can be found here: World Cup Prediction Game. Please be aware, there is no validation on the form, so please play close attention to what you enter, particularly with the quarter and semi-finalists. Entry is £2 per form and the deadline is midday on the 11th June.

COME ON ENGLAND!

Transfers

The first transfer window opens on Monday (26th October) and closes the same Friday (30th October). Normal rules apply: You must stick within your £50m budget, formations must conform to 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 and they must be in before the deadline.

Forms can be downloaded from the Forms section if required. I'm hoping to get the Transferpicker available by Monday but this is not certain. If I do, I'll send out the link and make you all aware of how to use it.

For info, the next transfer window will be late January.

Good luck.

Entry Fees

Entry Fees

Where time permits, I intend to update the league table after midweek games (on a Thursday) as well as after the weekend games on a Monday. I will continue to send out an e-mail to keep you all informed.

I still have a large number of entries that have not yet paid. Can you make a conscious effort to get your fees to me before the end of the month. I don't like to disqualify people but if money isn't forthcoming, I may have to do so.

It makes my life easier because I don't then have to chase people.

First League Table

New League Table

The first TH Fantasy Football League Table has now been published. Unfortunately, we didn't make the 400 target but 367 is still a very respectable amount. A big thanks to all those entered, and particularly those who used the Teampicker, it made a huge difference to getting all of the teams input so quickly.

Can all of those who are yet to pay, please ensure you get me your entry fees a.s.a.p. Unnecessary delay will lead to disqualification.

I've also added an Excel spreadsheet containing all of this year's teams. I will not be updating the points in this spreadsheet, it is simply there for transparency and to check who is in yours or your friend's and rival's team

That's all for now. Keep checking back to the website for more news and information.

New TH Fantasy Football League Season

Fernando Torres

The new season of the TH Fantasy Football League is quickly approaching and The Sun newspaper have released new Dream Team player lists and rules. This season, the rules have changed to allow you to buy more than 2 players from one club, if of course you can afford it.

I will be posting new player lists and amended scoring details in the next couple of days and the TH Fantasy Football Teampicker should also be available soon too.

I've decided to keep entries at £2 per team for this season. The aim is to get more teams enter than ever before in order to boost the prize fund. If you know of anyone who likes football and the odd punt, or just a bit of fun, please pass on the website details and any e-mails I send out and we'll see if we can get it over the 400 mark for the first time.

Finally, a big thank you to you all for your continuing support

New TH Fantasy Football League Website

Manchester United - Champions

Welcome to the new-look Trinity House Fantasy Football website. The new website has been designed to allow you to continue to navigate in a quick and simple way whilst updating the look and feel of the pages. Hopefully this has been achieved. If you find there's something you don't like, let me know and I'll endeavour to change it. If you think the whole thing is pants, tough! ;-) I'm not going to re-design the website again; well at least not this season.

Thank you all again for your continued support of the competition.

Information regarding the new season will be posted on here soon. As Apu likes to say, please come again!

Increase in Entry Fees?

Posted by Gavin Race on June 10, 2009

I've had several suggestions from people that it might be worth increasing the entry fees next season for the TH Fantasy Football League, to boost the prize fun. I'm happy to increase the cost of entry as much as I am happy to keep the status quo.

I therefore propose to put it out to those who actually pay the entry fee and take part in the competition. If you get chance, can you let me know if you'd prefer to:

- Keep the £2 entry fee

- Increase it to £3 entry fee (increase the prize fund by 50%)

- Increase it to £5 entry fee (increase the prize fund by 150%)

Publishing Teams?

View Your Fantasy Football Team

Another idea I've been toying with for a while is to publish the teams of each and every single entry so that people can see what teams they're up against. It will help people check who is in their team when they forget and it was also provide greater transparency.

I don't intend to update points scores on the Teams tab. It's merely a reference for those that wish to check the make-up of particular teams.

Dan & Simon - anyone have a picture?

Congratulations to last year's winners of the TH Fantasy Football League, Dan & Simon. Their team The Hurdy Gurdy Men won the competition with an impressive points score of 2198. Will this year's winner be able to beat that.
